Broccoli
Health Facts
Overview
A member of the cabbage family, broccoli is a plant with edible green flower heads and a thick, edible stalk. It is rich in vitamins such as Vitamin C, vitamin K and is a good source of folic acid and dietary fibre.
Broccoli is a popular ingredient in Mediterranean food and stir-fries. However it is thought that over-cooking can reduce many of its potential health benefits so gentle steaming is often recommended as a preferred cooking method.
