Fetac level 5 Nutrition and Health will be on offer this autumn presented by qualified nutritional therapists from The Nutrition Clinic in Carlow.

Learners who successfully complete this module will:
• Be familiar with the composition of food
• Evaluate the nutritional content of food
• Understand the relationship between health and nutrition
• Interpret current dietary information and recommendations
• Examine eating habits
• Be familiar with the nutritional needs of different groups of people
• Acquire a range of practical techniques

The specific learning outcomes are grouped into 4 units:
Unit 1 Composition of Food
Unit 2 Nutrition and Health
Unit 3 Nutrition and Exercise
Unit 4 Food Labelling

Course duration is 32 hours over 4 days from 9am – 5pm
All assessment is carried out in accordance with FETAC regulations. Assessment is devised by the internal assessor, with external moderation by FETAC.
Assignments (2) 50%
Examination (Theory-Based) 50%
