Dietary cholesterol (i.e. eggs) does not seem to be a major factor in raising blood plasma cholesterol levels as was previously thought, except in certain high risk individuals (diabetics) or those with a genetic predisposition. Consuming a diet low in fibre, high in saturated fats and calories and excessive alcohol definitely increases your risk.
