🌟MEAL PLANNING - A NECESSARY EVIL? ❓Do you m 🌟MEAL PLANNING - A NECESSARY EVIL?

❓Do you meal plan?
 I have to say before all these lockdowns I only planned occasionally. I would envy my friends who would know weeks in advance what they were cooking😂

👉But since last March I've meal planning constantly, and it's great! I try to have a month plan that I can mix up and repeat for the next month. Nothing fancy, just a list of our favourite dinners with plenty of room for last minute requests😁

👉Recently I've started adding in my lunches (or tea depending on when we have dinner) as I found I was feeding everyone else and just 'grabbing' something for me😔

As I routinely fast this is even more important, as I need to make sure I'm getting all my nutrition for the day😳

✨The second picture is what I'm planning for the next week. The idea for savoury pancakes came from @virginashealthcorner - I can't wait to try them💖

It's February, the snowdrops have arrived and it's taken me this long to get my head around the new year 🙈

January was generally a meh month tbh 😳.. don't get me wrong we still had great times, but it has, for the most part, passed in a blur between homeschooling, lockdowns and general January weather 🌦️

So I'm only now getting out for my first run of the year 🎉

I had wanted to get back into running in January and had set myself the challenge, however it's only now that I'm putting it into action, and that's ok!

Will I be able to run the same distance tomorrow? Probably not 😂 but I'm setting myself the goal to get out every day and start from there...

✨ While it's great to make resolutions in the New year, or intentions as I prefer to call them, just because we haven't started doesn't mean we never will ✨

While we're all looking forward to longer days and Sunshine 😎 coming back into our lives, what we may not be thinking of is that our Vitamin D is at an all-time low 😳

👉 Combined with living in Ireland (not the sunniest of places at the best of times) and a lack of foreign holidays last year as a chance to top up many of us could be ⬇️ in Vitamin D than ever before

❓Why I hear you ask should I worry?

Well low Vitamin D has been associated with:
👉 A risk of Heart disease
👉 A risk of poor bone health
👉 Low Immunity (more on this in min..)
👉 Linked with depression
👉 Has been found to low in IBD sufferers
And many more....

🤔 Recently, there are also more studies coming out that low Vitamin D levels have been linked with higher ICU admittance with COVID-19 and longer recovery 😳

❓❓What do I need to do?

✨Simples - Get Tested💉 - Know your levels✨

If you're low it's really easy to bring your levels up with supplements💊 and really we should be supplementing throughout the winter anyway. 
🌟However, knowing your level means knowing what to supplement🌟
Ideally you want a level >100nmol/L, or 40ng/mol 

👉You can get tested at your GP or through a simple finger-prick test via www.cerascreen.ie @cerascreen
